Dear friend who reads,

Alike Percephone, Artist Journal traveled through the underworld, peeling unnecessary layers and visiting the roots of existence. Roaming the steep fields of ice, greys and wind, cruised along the four month Venus retrograde, in self-contemplation.

It has been difficult to listen and hear. It has been unbearable to witness oneself and other with compassion. It has been winter.

Spring brings a relief to shadow and puts light to work. It beams inspiration onto one’s contribution to the homeostasis in the immediate world. Realising that the most impactful moves may not be the understanding of wind, bird song or another but the subtle shift which occurs within, in the very act of opening to understand.

An insight which Tim Ingold echoes in The Perception of the Environment, one of my book companions, on that not so solitary journey, after all,

Full understanding is not achieved through translation but through metamorphosis.
