post ephemerous

single slide projection onto an object - wool thread wrapped body, plastic, soil, roots, 2018

How does the current ecological crisis shape the ephemeral?

Leaves disintegrate, hair decomposes, the body eventually will. Long after its organic counterparts have dissolved, plastic remains in the earth's womb. Historically, women weaved their own stories into garments and tapestry where the thread becomes a path, an umbilical cord, a beginning and an end. The artist’s body, yet, depersonified carries the phenomenological experience of a mother, of earth, of a story in a story.

Installation for “Checklist” online exhibition, May 31st, 2020.
